Livingston Lures Releases The Critter
Precision Downsized Muskie and Pike Lure Built for Pressured Fish, Cold Fronts, Early Season Patterns, and Forward-Facing Sonar

SAN ANTONIO, TX — March 3rd 2026 — Livingston Lures announces the release of The Critter, a compact, high-performance muskie and pike lure designed by acclaimed angler, guide, and lure designer Steven Paul. Tailored for early season, pressured fisheries, cold fronts and modern forward-facing sonar tactics, The Critter delivers a refined downsized presentation that triggers reaction strikes without compromising power or precision.

Measuring just over 3.5 inches (without rear blades), The Critter incorporates dense internal weighting for a controlled two-feet-per-second fall rate. Dual rear Colorado blades create turbulence and vibration during the drop, while a ribbon-style paddle tail adds erratic action, mimicking a struggling baitfish to provoke predators.

Versatile by design, The Critter shines across multiple techniques. Short upward taps produce a vertical, tube-like jump-and-fall cadence ideal for cold-front or early-season muskies. It excels as a follow-up bait after larger presentations, and a straight retrieve or burn over shallow flats and post-spawn areas unleashes its distinct blade thump for aggressive responses from muskies and northern pike.

Fully optimized for forward-facing sonar, The Critter incorporates patented internal technology that enhances on-screen visibility and tracking at distance.

At the core of The Critter is Livingston Lures’ patented EBS™ (Electronic Baitfish Sound) Technology, which replicates authentic biological distress sounds of baitfish. This natural acoustic trigger enhances predatory awareness from greater distances, especially in high-pressure or low-visibility environments.
